Overview
Together with CADENA International Development Projects and DALBERG, Verb Education played a pivotal role in the development of two blueprints for the State Department of TVET (SDTVET) in Kenya’s Ministry of Education. The project was funded by Mastercard Foundation.

Undertaking
The project was multi-faceted, involving extensive research, consultation, and technical implementation strategies. The two blueprints produced were:

  1. TVET Blueprint: This blueprint focuses on the supply side of TVET and especially the elements of Governance, Access, Relevance, Quality and Fiancing. Digitalisation across all these elements was a critical component that Verb Education served to clearly articulate and outline.
  2. TVET Workforce Blueprint: This blueprint focuses on the demand side of TVET, with a special focus on Manufacturing, Construction, Health and Agriculture. Verb Education’s role was to provide the digitalisation blueprint for each of the sectors in line with the Kenyan context.

Outcome:
The TVET blueprints have laid the groundwork for a more responsive, agile, and inclusive vocational training system in Kenya. Its emphasis on digitalization, industry alignment, and lifelong learning has the potential to transform Kenya’s workforce and position the country as a regional leader in vocational training.
