Overview
Verb Education was contracted by GIZ GmbH to develop an educational video series addressing workplace sexual harassment. The project focused on creating engaging, interactive videos that would educate young people about their rights and responsibilities, while also providing practical guidance on preventing and addressing harassment.

Technical Undertaking
Verb Education took a comprehensive approach to content creation, drawing on legal frameworks, human rights principles, and best practices in workplace ethics.

  • Content Research & Scriptwriting: Extensive research was conducted with focus groups made up of survivors of various forms of workplace harassment. The focus groups helped co-create the stories, which were then fictionalised and produced into scripts for actors.
  • Production: A professional video production team handled the filming, featuring real-life scenarios and locations. Expert inputs were integrated into each video to make the content actionable and informative.

Outcome
The educational video series has been widely adopted across Kenya’s TVET institutions and is in use by Kenya’s largest job board for young people – Brighter Monday. The series has increased awareness of workplace sexual harassment, empowered staff and students to report incidents, and provided TVET administrators with the tools to create safer learning environments.
